John Frelone was the youngest of the 1923 casualties at 16 years old. He worked as the hoist boy at the No. 4 mine, working the hoists at the pithead that pulled trips of cars up the slope. John was killed in the explosion. He was buried in the Cumberland cemetery in block K-18.
