History
The Harewood Slope, established between 1864 and 1874, was initiated by the Vancouver Coal & Land Company (VCL) and operated under the management of the Harwood Coal Company. This mining operation was located near the present-day Harewood Mines Road.
Description
This image shows six miners and two full coal cars in front of a mine entrance. Tall felled trees lie across the slope.
