History
Rescue team members participated in mine rescue and first aid competitions under the Vancouver Island Mine Rescue Association as early as 1915 with the main events being the W. L. Coulson Cup and the Department of Mines Cup. In the 1920s, more competitions were developed like the Codderre Cup, spearheaded by the St. John Ambulance in 1922.
