In the afternoon of August 30th, 1922, an explosion killed 15 workers at the No. 4 mine. Among the casualties was Man Leung, a Chinese miner's helper. Unfortunately, records regarding the Chinese workers who died in the disaster are less complete than those for the white workers, resulting in misspelled names and unrecorded ages and dates of birth.
