Cause of death: 1903 disaster

On July 15th, 1903, a gas explosion occurred on the No. 3 slope at No. 6 mine. See Mah was one of the miners who were killed. The Chinese miners were blamed for the explosion, and it was claimed that they had caused the gas to ignite by illicitly bringing and lighting matches in the shafts.
