History

The Sora family was among the many families that created a community around the No. 5 Mine in Cumberland. The Sora family were removed from their home (along with approximately six-hundred other Japanese Canadians) on April 15, 1942 during internment. They were forcibly relocated to Greenwood, BC and Clarkson, ON.

Description

This image shows Jukichi Sora and Ryuko Sora, in their cabbage patch in No. 5 Town. Ryuko is holding their son, 'Stoney'.
