History
Both items were used on the Herb Joyce ranch on Quadra Island at Cape Mudge in the 1920s. Ralph Cox, a retired machinist restored both pieces. Once restored, Mr. Joyce’s descendants decided to donate them to the Museum at Campbell River.
Description
A dragsaw is a large reciprocating saw used to buck logs to length. Before chainsaws, dragsaws were popular tools for cutting wood, but could only be used on the ground. Restored by Ralph Cox, green and brown painted metal.
