Ah Dam (or Dan) was a miner's helper at the No. 6 mine when an explosion on February 15th, 1901 killed the entire shift. The disaster was the worst in Cumberland's history. Unfortunately discrepancies in the recording of Chinese fatalities of the disaster have caused difficulties in identifying Chinese casualties, with names having been misspelled or mis-recorded.
