William McMillan was born in Scotland on October 3rd, 1885. He moved to Canada, where he worked as a miner in the No. 4 mine in Cumberland. On May 2nd, 1934, he was killed when a shot did not lodge properly and the cap rock fell outwards and struck him. He was buried in the Cumberland cemetery in block G-24.
