Eddy created his match-making company in 1851 in Hull, Quebec. They introduced the first 'No After Glow' match in Canada around 1910. 'No After Glow' meant the match would go out automatically after burning down to a certain point, effectively self-extinguishing.
Sesqui refers to Phosphorus sesquisulfide, a sulphur-based compound developed in 1898 posing fewer health hazards than the previosly used white phosphorus.
