Description
The ringer box was a separate item on the telephone line that contained the ringer to alert a user and the magneto to alert the operator. The telephone ringer box is made of oak with two silver bells mounted on the front. Inside is a magneto to power the connection to the telephone operator. There is also a solenoid to ring the bells and a wiring diagram mounted on the inside of the door. The door is secured with a screw at the front. There is a hand crank on the right side of the box. "THE NORTHERN ELECTRIC / & MANUFACTURING CO. LTD." is printed in black on a gold decal on the front of the box. "TYPE 315-H" is stamped in the wood on the inside of the front door.
