Tai Quong (or Yong) Mah was a Chinese tracklayer at the No. 6 mine who was killed in the 1901 disaster. His job would have involved laying the tracks that the coal carts travelled on throughout the mine. Unfortunately discrepancies in the recording of Chinese fatalities of the disaster have caused difficulties in identifying Chinese casualties, with names having been misspelled or mis-recorded.
